On November 13, a pioneering Space Education Lab, the first of its kind in Arunachal Pradesh, opened its doors at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Yazali. The facility, built through a collaboration between ISRO Space Tutor and VYOMIKA Space Academy, represents a significant step forward in space education for India’s northeastern area. Education Minister PD Sona, who opened the facility, commended it as a pioneering step that will stimulate young minds throughout the state. Dr. Nilesh Desai, Director of the Space Applications Centre (SAC/ISRO), emphasized India’s growing involvement in space exploration during his first visit to the state.

The project’s leader, District Commissioner Keyi Panyor Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta, called it a realization of a long-held goal to teach local students about space. The lab seeks to broaden the educational horizons of young people in the area and encourage scientific curiosity. Despite being a recently established district, Keyi Panyor is rapidly developing, according to local MLA Toko Tatung. The Rural Works Department’s Superintending Engineer’s office in Yachuli was also inaugurated at the event. Along with local leaders and education officials, important figures attended the ceremony, including Superintendent of Police Angad Mehta, Education Advisor Mutchu Mithi, and Education Secretary Duly Kamduk. The inauguration of GHSS Yazali was followed by a Chintan Shivir Program.
