Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for highlighting the state’s cultural heritage during his official visit to Japan. In a post on X, Khandu wrote that the Prime Minister “has once again made us proud by presenting the rich cultural legacy of Arunachal Pradesh on the global stage.” During his appearances in Tokyo, Modi wore the Galo tribe’s unique Tukok, a traditional garment that represents the rich identity and artistry of the people of the northeastern state. “I express my sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble PM for preserving our customs and providing them with worldwide recognition on behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh,” Khandu said, adding that the action was in keeping with the #VocalForLocal campaign.

According to Prime Minister Modi’s speech at the India-Japan Economic Forum, the two countries’ friendship is based on their strong business connections. “The world is not just watching India but counting on India,” he said, calling on Japanese businesses to become more involved with India’s development story through the “Make in India” campaign. Modi also highlighted how combining Japan’s advanced technology with India’s skilled labor population may result in a “technological revolution of this century.”
