Arunachal Pradesh Police cracked a major burglary case, reported from Amba village under Doimukh Police Station, recovering stolen valuables and items worth over Rs 3.5crore and arresting one accused during a midnight operation.
According to police sources, a complaint was received on December 27 from Tana Jesy Tara of Amba village, Doimukh, stating that unknown miscreants had broken into his residence during the intervening night of December 26 and 27, 2025. The burglars decamped with local ornaments and other valuables estimated to be worth more than Rs 3.5 crore.
Acting promptly on the complaint, a special police team led by SDPO Radhe Obing conducted a midnight operation and successfully apprehended one accused from Number 2 Kehutoli village under Laluk Police Station in Lakhimpur district of Assam.
The arrested accused has been identified as Sadikul Islam (26). During the operation, stolen valuables worth over Rs 3 crore were recovered from his possession.
Police informed that two other accused involved in the burglary are still absconding. However, their identities have been established, and efforts are underway to arrest them at the earliest. Further investigation into the case is underway.
