Arunachal Health Minister (2)

At the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, a high-level committee headed by Arunachal Health & Family Welfare Minister Biyuram Wahge looked into the possibilities of setting up organ transplant facilities in the state. The group included Dr. Moji Jini, director of the state’s top medical school, the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun, and Dr. Mohesh Chai, counselor to the health minister. The visit was a component of the state’s larger goal to provide organ transplant services at TRIHMS in order to improve access to life-saving healthcare within the state and lessen reliance on other organizations.

The Arunachal team had fruitful conversations with PGIMER Director Prof. Vivek Lal and a group of knowledgeable medical professionals during the visit. The technical roadmap, phased implementation plan, and guaranteeing safe and efficient transplant protocols customized to the state’s particular healthcare environment were the main topics of debate. PGIMER, a respected national center for transplant and advanced medical research, has agreed to offer technical and logistical support to help Arunachal Pradesh establish a sustainable organ transplant program. The program is expected to include training, infrastructure guidance, and long-term institutional cooperation.
