The ‘Clean Model Village’ project in Pangin was officially opened by Arunachal Pradesh Rural Development and Transport Minister Ojing Tasing, signaling a major advancement in the area’s environmental sustainability. The initiative, which was started as part of the Swachhatau Sewa 2024 program, aims to establish Pangin as a model village for eco-friendly practices, trash management, and environmental conservation. Notable officials including Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng and Siang Deputy Commissioner P.N. Thungon attended the event along with local leaders and community members.

Circle Officer Niyang Pertin and her staff were commended by the minister for their crucial contribution to the project’s development. He said he hoped Pangin’s makeover would spur similar projects throughout the state, resulting in a network of greener, cleaner towns. By emphasizing grassroots involvement and community engagement in sustainable development techniques, the Clean Model Village initiative positions Pangin as a showcase for cutting-edge environmental solutions.
