Ace mountaineer Kabak Yano of Arunachal Pradesh has successfully climbed Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, the highest peak in South America, as part of her ongoing goal to conquer the highest mountains on every continent. As part of her planned 7-peak Mountaineering Expedition, she arrived at the peak on February 1. Mount Aconcagua is the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere, rising to a height of 22,831 feet above sea level. The accomplishment is yet another significant turning point in Yano’s inspirational path, which has been characterized by bravery, tenacity, and resolve.Yano was commended on her outstanding achievement by Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. Gen. K.T. Parnaik (Retd.). The governor praised her unwavering determination and unwavering spirit, saying that her journey is not just a personal victory but also a potent source of inspiration for the state’s children. Her accomplishment, he said, is proof that self-belief, dedication, and tenacity can get you through even the most difficult obstacles.

The governor expressed optimism that Yano’s achievement would inspire young people to participate in sports and adventurous activities, saying that many would be inspired to follow their aspirations with newfound zeal by her example. Recall that on July 28, 2025, Governor Parnaik formally launched Yano’s 7-Summit trip from Lok Bhavan in front of Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Kento Jini. One of the renowned Everest climbers from Arunachal Pradesh, Yano, has already made great strides in the task. On August 4, 2025, she successfully ascended Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania; on August 16, 2025, she ascended Europe’s highest peak, Mount Elbrus.Climbing the highest peaks in each continent is part of the renowned 7-Summit challenge: Mount Everest (Asia).Mount Elbrus in Europe, Vinson Massif in Antarctica, Aconcagua in South America, Denali in North America, Kilimanjaro in Africa, and either Puncak Jaya or Mount Kosciuszko in Oceania. Only a small number of climbers worldwide have achieved what is regarded as one of the most difficult mountaineering accomplishments.
