Manjit Yein (2)

Manjit Yein, a rising talent in Indian mixed martial arts (MMA) from Namsai district, is the first person from Arunachal Pradesh to sign with ONE Championship. On March 21, Yein will participate in the One Championship at Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpini Stadium. Yein has a perfect professional record. In his first professional bout with One Championship, he will compete in the flyweight division against an unbeaten Filipino opponent. Yein gave seven days’ notice before accepting the One Championship contract. Established in 2011, One Championship is a global promotion of combat sports.

Yein’s path from a farmer to a world-renowned MMA competitor is an inspiration. She received training at Bidang MMA & Fitness Gym in Guwahati under the tutelage of famous MMA fighter Bhabajeet Choudhury. Yein has quickly become one of the most promising MMA fighters in India. His transformation from an impoverished farmer to a One FC combatant has been quite remarkable. Arunachal Pradesh pioneer Gollo Rinu, meantime, has made history by becoming the first female state graduate to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in mechanical engineering. Last December, at the 10th Convocation of the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST), her outstanding accomplishment was honored.
