A special health and awareness programme was held at Menchukha Valley Public School in Arunachal Pradesh as part of the nationwide observance of Swasthya Naari, Shashkt Parivaar Abhiyaan and Poshan Maah. Organized under the theme “Healthy Women, Empowered Families – Promoting Health and Awareness”, the initiative aimed at strengthening preventive healthcare practices, highlighting women’s health, and empowering local communities.

The event began with a Medical and Dental Health Check-up Camp that extended vital services to 90 students and 16 school staff members. Participants underwent routine screenings and consultations, receiving guidance on nutrition, oral hygiene, and general well-being. Teachers noted that the initiative helped reinforce the importance of good health habits among young learners, while staff members appreciated the focus on preventive care rather than curative treatment alone.

One of the highlights of the programme was an interactive session led by the Regimental Medical Officer (RMO), who conducted a live demonstration on Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and First Aid. Students enthusiastically participated in the hands-on training, learning crucial techniques that could one day help save lives in emergencies. “It was a rare opportunity for our students to receive practical training in such critical life-saving methods,” a teacher remarked.

Beyond medical check-ups and demonstrations, the event also encouraged informal interactions between the healthcare team and the school community. Over tea, participants and doctors discussed daily health challenges, building trust and deepening the connection between the Indian Army’s medical unit and the people of Menchuka. The programme ended with a group photograph, symbolizing unity, cooperation, and a shared resolve to prioritize health.
