At a review meeting of the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, Union Minister Suresh Gopi advised officials to give women’s health, teacher training, and millet farming top priority in order to advance the district’s development. The Center’s ‘Nari Shakti’ campaign, which prioritizes women’s health and the prevention of cervical cancer through thorough screening, was highlighted by Gopi, the Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism. According to an official report, he instructed the Health Department to keep a logbook for patients with breast and cervical cancer in order to guarantee improved monitoring and prompt intervention.
In reference to the proposed medical college, the minister recommended that authorities situate it on the outskirts of the district to facilitate better access for border defense personnel and inhabitants of nearby districts. In his evaluation of education, Gopi pointed out poor learning results and suggested programs to “nurture future leaders” through capacity-building and teacher assessments. He was told by officials that Oil India Limited has funded the installation of 38 digital boards in secondary and upper secondary schools as part of Phase I, with upper primary schools to follow.
In the field of agriculture, he counseled officials to highlight millet as a nutrient-dense crop and to guarantee that all qualified recipients are covered by the appropriate programs. As Minister of Tourism, Gopi emphasized the “Tourism Boost Vision 2029” that was unveiled in the Union Budget 2025–2026 and intends to transform 50 of the world’s most popular locations into world-class hubs by 2029. When the rules are released, he encouraged the district administration to apply. The minister later went to inspect the facilities at Namsai District Hospital.
