As a prelude to the Pangsau Pass International Festival (PPIF) 2026, Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Operation Sadbhavana, unveiled the crown of Miss Pangsau Pass International Festival.
The Talent Round of the Miss Pangsau Pass International Festival (Miss PPIF) Beauty Pageant was conducted on Sunday.
The event stood as a vibrant celebration of youth, culture and empowerment from one of India’s most remote frontier regions.
Altogether 19 contestants from far-flung and border villages including Motongsa, Namgoi, Balinong, Changlang and adjoining areas participated in the talent round, transforming the stage into a powerful platform of aspiration and self-expression.
The participants showcased an impressive spectrum of talent encompassing folk and contemporary music, dance performances, painting, martial arts displays and cultural presentations, reflecting the rich diversity and innate confidence of the region’s youth, particularly young women from remote communities.
The event was graced by the Deputy Inspector General of Assam Rifles along with the MLA of Nampong and other civil dignitaries whose esteemed presence underlined strong civil military synergy and community support for youth-centric initiatives.
Beyond competition, the programme carried a deeper message. The highlight of the event was the ceremonial unveiling of the Miss PPIF Crown by the Chief Guest and the Chief Patron, symbolising opportunity, aspiration and the promise of empowerment for the young women of the region.
The Miss PPIF Talent Round exemplified Assam Rifles commitment to empowering youth, preserving cultural identity, and fostering inclusive growth alongside border security.
The evening was further energised by electrifying performances from the Assam Rifles Jazz Band and a special appearance by “The Trend”, winners of the K-Pop Contest 2023, which added a contemporary flavour and immense excitement to the celebrations.
