Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated the Tsari Taksing Gajang Shedup Dargeyling Monastery in Taksing, located in Upper Subansiri district near the Tibet–China border, marking a significant event in the village’s history. During the inauguration, which attracted a large crowd, Khandu emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing development, connectivity, and livelihood opportunities in frontier areas. He acknowledged the contributions of the Nah Welfare Society and local leaders for successfully organizing the event amidst logistical challenges.

Khandu outlined that over 40 developmental initiatives, including inaugurations and laying of foundation stones, took place in the Nacho Assembly constituency, showcasing the rapid infrastructure progress in the district. He credited the transformation of Arunachal Pradesh over the past decade to the cooperative efforts of the state government, local representatives, officials, and central agencies under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Highlighting the critical role of connectivity in development, Khandu noted that Taksing was previously reachable only by helicopter due to a lack of roads, but road access was achieved in 2019. This milestone was realized through collaboration with the Government of India and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), initiating socio-economic development in the region. He pointed to the Trans-Arunachal Highway—an extensive 1,800-km corridor from Tawang to Longding—as a transformative project that has significantly cut travel times, making journeys that previously took over 12 hours now achievable in about five hours.

Khandu also discussed the Frontier Highway, a strategically approved border road initiative, stating that tendering is in progress for various sections in Upper Subansiri district and urged public support for its implementation. He reiterated a strong stance against corruption, warning that any delays or irregularities in land compensation and project execution must be avoided, as they threaten public interest. He referenced actions taken against irregularities in specific parts of the Trans-Arunachal Highway and emphasized the necessity of accountability.

Furthermore, Khandu highlighted the Vibrant Villages Programme, launched in 2021, which aims to bolster development through improved infrastructure and livelihood opportunities in border areas. He stressed the importance of a coordinated approach among civil administration, the Indian Army, and the ITBP to establish sustainable developmental models in these remote villages.
