In yet another terrible example of human-wildlife conflict, a 46-year-old tea garden laborer was murdered by a wild elephant in Aghuripather, located between Namsang and Deomali in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district. This is the second occurrence in the region this month, and the third in the last year, highlighting the rising threat presented by wild elephant invasions into human communities. According to forest department authorities in the Deomali range, the tragedy happened on Monday night when a wild elephant entered the victim Dhiren Tati’s home while he was sleeping.

According to eyewitnesses, the elephant pulled Tati out through a window and stomped him to death. The animal also did significant damage to the house during the attack. According to authorities, forest staff went to the location swiftly after getting information on Tuesday. However, when officials arrived at the spot, the body had already been buried. The attack was substantiated by evidence collected on the spot, which included images, damage assessments, elephant dung, and a newly dug grave site. The agency has voiced severe worry about the rising frequency of similar instances in the region, urging citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any elephant sightings.
