Flipkart has launched a new premium membership plan in India called Flipkart Black, designed to compete with Amazon Prime. Priced at ₹1,499 per year, it is currently available at a discounted rate of ₹990 as an introductory offer. This new tier is more expensive than Flipkart’s existing VIP membership (₹799/year) and sits above the Flipkart Plus loyalty program, which includes Silver and Gold levels based on user activity.

Flipkart Black offers several benefits, including a free one-year YouTube Premium subscription worth ₹1,490, which allows ad-free streaming, background play, and offline downloads for one account. Members also receive 5% SuperCoins cashback (up to ₹100 per order) on purchases made via Flipkart and Flipkart Minutes, with the chance to earn up to 800 SuperCoins each month. These coins can be used for discounts or cashback.

Additional perks include exclusive deals on premium electronics, early sale access, 24/7 priority support, and travel benefits like flight cancellations or rescheduling on Cleartrip for just Re.1. However, the membership is non-refundable and non-cancellable. Flipkart is positioning this offering as an alternative to Amazon Prime, especially by highlighting ad-free YouTube access over Prime Video, which now includes ads.
