The Indian Medical Association of Arunachal Pradesh (IMA-AP) and the Arunachal Pradesh Doctors’ Association (APDA) organized a multi-specialty health camp at the Nabam Deepak Living Home in Sopo village. The effort provided free medical care to hundreds of poor convicts. The camp offered a diverse range of medical treatments, examinations, and specialist consultations. More than 50 doctors from throughout the ICR volunteered for the great cause, which aims to assist financially disadvantaged patients and caregivers.
Dr. Kesang Wangdi Thongdok, President of IMA-AP, explained that the event was part of a month-long series of social service events culminating in Doctors’ Day on July 1. “Many here are abandoned by families and suffer from psychological illnesses, prompting us to conduct multi-level screenings,” he told me. Dr. Thongdok went on to say, “The doctors’ community has financed the entire endeavor. We also thank Doimukh MLA Nabam Vivek’s voluntary assistance for this worthy initiative in his own constituency.”
Social activist Deepak Nabam has moved his living home to a new facility in Sopo, accommodating 304 destitute individuals. The Prime Minister praised Nabam’s humanitarian work and praised Chief Minister Pema Khandu for his support. The Doctors’ Day celebration, titled “Healing Hands, Caring Hearts,” offered consultations in various medical fields and registration desks for government health schemes. The event began with a cleanliness drive and will conclude with a clean-up event on July 1.
