The holding of “Shaam-e-Nazm,” an evening devoted to poetry, music, and artistic performances, turned the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Itanagar into a thriving center of art and culture. The event, which was fully planned and presented by the children, was notable as a forum that honored individual creativity, young imagination, and community involvement. GPM Taba Toka, dean in-charge Bishnu Dev Halder, gram panchayat chairperson Taba Kunya, and deputy registrar Utsav Parmar graced the event. Parmar discussed the delicate balance between poetry’s sincerity and performance in his speech.

“Listening to oneself while performing is just as vital as performing well. He established the tone for the evening by saying, “That self-awareness brings honesty into art and refines delivery.” A succession of heartfelt solo and group performances by FTII students ensued. Numerous of their poems were original, and they addressed universal subjects including friendships, heartbreak, youthful love, first crushes, empowerment, and the need for special places. These intensely intimate recitations struck a chord with the audience, revealing the variety of the young artists’ creative voices while also offering a glimpse into their inner lives. In order to reinforce respect for literary integrity, students were also reminded of how important it is to give credit to the original authors whenever borrowed works are performed.

Students brought music into the occasion by playing instruments and singing songs that complemented the poetry’s cadence, giving the evening an additional dimension. The combination of verse and music transformed the institute’s facility into a platform for artistic experimentation while fostering a feeling of coziness, closeness, and joy.
