New Delhi, Dec 23: Gold prices rose by Rs 129 to Rs 76,549 per 10 gram in futures trade on Monday as speculators created deals on strong spot demand.

Gold contracts for February delivery rose by Rs 129, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 76,549 per 10 gram on the Multi Commodity Exchange in a business turnover of 12,830 lots.

Analysts said fresh deals by participants led to the rise in gold prices.

Globally, gold futures rose 0.35 per cent to $2,632.13 an ounce in New York.
