Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected in many areas of Arunachal Pradesh, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), which has also issued advisories for regions that are particularly vulnerable. The meteorological center here issued a district-by-district forecast, predicting scattered to fairly widespread rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning in places like East Kameng, Papum Pare, Pakke-Kessang, West Kameng, East Siang, and Dibang Valley.

To stay informed, the IMD has issued a yellow watch for a number of areas, warning of potential waterlogging and disruptions to local transportation. It is predicted that the rain will get much more intense on Saturday. Thunderstorms and severe rains are possible in districts like Namsai, Changlang, Tirap, Lohit, and portions of the Lower Dibang Valley. For portions of central and eastern Arunachal, the IMD has issued orange advisories, warning locals to be ready for possible floods of low-lying areas and rising river levels.

The rain belt is predicted to spread by Sunday, encompassing Upper Subansiri, West Siang, and Upper Siang as well as western Arunachal, including Tawang, West Kameng, and East Kameng. While most other regions are likely to see widespread moderate to heavy rainfall, the forecast predicts very heavy rainfall in isolated pockets. For a number of areas, an orange warning has been issued, advising caution. The IMD has warned of the possibility of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in districts including Tirap, Longding, Namsai, Changlang, and Lower Dibang Valley as the wet spell is expected to last until September 15.
