Arunachal Pradesh is under a weather warning from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), which predicts heavy to widespread rains in multiple districts starting on September 4 and circumstances that will likely get worse over the next few days. West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, Kamle, Kra Daadi, Kurung Kumey, Lower Siang, Siang, East Siang, Upper Siang, Lohit, Changlang, Longding, and Tirap are all expected to experience thunderstorms and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall on September 4, according to the district-by-district forecast issued by the local meteorological center. Authorities have warned residents in susceptible areas to exercise caution as conditions could worsen, even though no red alert has been issued as of yet.

Rainfall in the central and western districts, including Papum Pare, West Kameng, Lower Subansiri, East Kameng, Kamle, and Kurung Kumey, is predicted to increase in intensity on Friday. Heavy periods are also anticipated to persist in eastern areas such as Lohit, Changlang, and Longding. On Saturday, central and western Arunachal districts are expected to experience widespread rainfall, raising concerns about waterlogging, flash floods, and landslides. The IMD advises district administrations to remain alert and residents to take necessary precautions, especially in flood- and landslide-prone areas, as the rainfall activity is expected to peak in the northeastern state by Sunday.
