The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued a “Severe Cold Day” warning for several states, including Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi, as well as the sub-Himalayan districts of West Bengal (Siliguri and Jalpaiguri). Dense fog has caused a total of 18 train cancellations and over 40 flight delays at IGI Airport and Bagdogra Airport today. Experts attribute this prolonged cold spell to a strong Western Disturbance, advising residents to minimize outdoor activity during early morning and late-night hours.
