Arunachal Pradesh is expected to see a new round of rainfall activity starting, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Over the following five days, thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rains are expected in a number of districts. The local meteorological center said in a report on Friday that thundershowers and sporadic rain were expected in most areas of the state. Light to moderate rainfall is anticipated in the central and foothill districts of Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, East Kameng, and West Kameng, while showers may get more intense in the eastern districts and in isolated areas of the Siang belt. Rainfall is predicted to spread rather widely throughout a greater area of the state on Sunday.
There may be heavy rainfall in areas like Upper Subansiri, East Siang, Changlang, Namsai, and Dibang Valley, along with thunderstorms in a few places. The IMD pointed out that it is impossible to rule out localized heavy rain, particularly in the central and eastern areas. Widespread rain and thunderstorm activity are predicted for southern and eastern Arunachal as the wet period continues until Monday. Heavy spells are expected to hit Changlang, Tirap, Longding, and the surrounding areas, while the central and western districts are likely to have sporadic showers. Although solitary to scattered showers will continue to occur throughout the state, the distribution of rainfall may become more irregular by September 23.
