The Hundred (2)

In preparation for the sixth year of the competition, the Hundred will have its first player auction in March 2026 after making a number of adjustments to the player selection process and compensation. According to the organizers, the Hundred Board approved the modifications, which were made by The Hundred Playing Working Group, which is made up of representatives from the eight teams, the PCA, and the ECB. Squads will consist of 16–18 players, with four foreign players allowed, in addition to the switch to an auction.

Teams will be required to spend a minimum amount, known as the salary collar, in addition to a salary limit. Teams will now determine how much they are willing to offer at the auction, rather than having exact prices fixed, even if minimum salaries will still exist. Additionally, multi-year contracts will be implemented. For the 2026 season, The Hundred Men’s Competition will see a 45% increase in the total wage pot, reaching GBP 2.05 million each team. For the 2026 season, The Hundred Women’s Competition will see a 100% rise in the total salary pot, reaching GBP 8,80,000 each team.
