According to an official, a public advisory with guidelines for the approaching Diwali festival on October 20 has been released by the Capital Itanagar district administration. Toko Babu, the Deputy Commissioner of Capital Itanagar, stated in the advise that the firecrackers should be set off between 8 and 10 p.m. on Diwali night. Because they are less polluting, the administration has only permitted the sale of green crackers that are certified by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organization (PESO). The government has approved the sale of firecrackers with sound levels no higher than 120 dB. According to the deputy commissioner, anyone who disobeys the order will face harsh consequences and would be prosecuted in accordance with the relevant legal provisions.
