K. T. Parnaik Urges Youth to Embrace Innovation While Staying Rooted in Culture

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, K.T. Parnaik, on Tuesday called upon young people to remain open to new ideas while staying firmly grounded in India’s cultural values and ethos. He was interacting with students from Jharkhand, Puducherry, and West Bengal under youth exchange initiatives at Lok Bhavan.
A total of 44 students from Jharkhand and Puducherry are visiting Arunachal Pradesh under the Ashtalakshmi Darshan program, while 37 youths from West Bengal are participating in the Interstate Youth Exchange Program. The initiatives aim to foster cultural understanding and strengthen national integration among young citizens.
Addressing the students as future leaders, the governor encouraged them to “perform, reform, and transform” in their professional and personal lives. He stressed the importance of innovation, enterprise, and technology-driven development in building a strong and self-reliant India.
Parnaik urged the youths to become responsible contributors to society and active participants in the journey towards a Viksit Bharat. He advised them to be educated, disciplined, and motivated citizens who uphold ethical values while pursuing excellence.
The Governor praised the vision behind the Ashtalakshmi Darshan program, describing it as a far-sighted effort to connect the Northeastern region with the rest of the country. He also commended the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for implementing the Interstate Youth Exchange Programme, saying such initiatives strengthen the sense of unity and national integration.
Highlighting Arunachal Pradesh’s development, the Governor described the state as a living example of unity in diversity, home to numerous tribes and rich cultural traditions. He noted that the state has remained largely free from insurgency and holds strategic importance as a buffer between the Tibet region and the rest of India. He also emphasized Arunachal’s growing relevance in India’s Act East policy.
The program concluded on a vibrant note, with students from Jharkhand and Puducherry presenting cultural performances. Students of Rajiv Gandhi University showcased a “diversity dance,” reflecting the harmonious cultural mosaic of the state.
The interaction served as a reminder that empowering youth through dialogue, exchange, and exposure is vital to shaping a progressive and united nation.
