In the fourth session of Expresso, Kajol shared her thoughts about dealing with trolls and how people only see the glamorous side of an actor’s life.
Apart from handling the pressure of a high-profile career in the public eye, Bollywood stars also have to deal with trolling on social media. In the fourth session of Expresso on Monday, Kajol shared her thoughts on dealing with trolls and how people only see the glamorous side of an actor’s life and not the hard work behind it.
She said, “I am grateful that I have lived a full life without social media. I came on social media only six years ago. Also, it is not real life. You will see a picture of me on the red carpet, but you will not see that I got up at 5 am to get ready, came back tired at 11:30 pm and the next morning, I am back to work. You are just seeing a snapshot of it. The reality is that we work just as hard as everyone else, we have good and bad days, and yet, when you post, you smile.”
Kajol concluded her thoughts on the subject with a poignant statement, saying, “I have a slightly different way of looking at it: when people love you so much, they also feel they have the right to hate you just as much. So, I wouldn’t say they are right, but as public figures, we have to deal with it.”
Kajol will next be seen in Do Patti alongside Kriti Sanon. She will play the role of a police officer while Kriti will be seen in a dual role of rival twin sisters. The film is Kriti’s first production venture and is directed by Shashank Chaturvedi with a screenplay by Kanika Dhillon. Do Patti will premiere on Netflix on October 25.
