
A health camp offering several free medical treatments and public awareness workshops was held at the Community Health Center (CHC) Mariyang in the Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh as part of the countrywide Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar (SNSP) abhiyan. In cooperation with BMMU ArSRLM, the event also commemorated the observance of Rashtriya Poshan Maah. Dr. Otem Pertin, medical officer; Dr. Ahik Miyu, DTO-cum-DACO; Dr. Ojing Tayeng, pediatrician; Dr. Gido Pertin, medical; office bearers of the BJP’s district mahila morcha; the mahila mandals of Yingkiong and Mariyang-Mopom; BMMU ArSRLM Mariyang; and CHC Mariyang medical staff attended the program, which was inaugurated by ZPM Bojing Bitin.
Dr. Ahik Miyu emphasized the value of diet in TB prevention and management while highlighting the free services offered under the national TB elimination program (NTEP). He urged people to adopt TB patients as part of the Nikshay Mitra program.
Among the 127 beneficiaries registered at the camp were 78 who underwent screening for hypertension, 76 for diabetes, 75 for tuberculosis, and 72 for HIV/syphilis. Additionally, there were 21 ABHA enrollments, two PMJAY registrations, and three Nikshay Mitra registrations. On September 23, CHC Jengging also hosted SNSP Abhiyan, which included services like routine vaccines, ANC exam and counseling, NCD screening, NTEP services, ENT and eye consultations, RBSK screening, IFA distribution, ABHA card creation, and PMJAY card registration.
