Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a father to son Yaani and daughter Shora Siddiqui, who are training to become actors. Nawazuddin recently spoke about inspiring his children to move forward, read more and appreciate art. Speaking to ANI, Nawazuddin discussed the importance of art in people’s lives and how it is an acquired taste. He also praised his daughter for attending Shakespeare workshops at her acting school in London.
He said that, “Art is not a regular thing, you have to develop a taste for it. I have been encouraging my children to appreciate art and learn about it. My daughter is 14 and she is already doing Shakespeare workshops in London. From a very young age, I used to put a lot of pressure on them to decide what they wanted to watch, otherwise, they would get lost because there was a lot of meaningless content everywhere so you had to be selective about what you wanted to watch and what you didn’t want to watch.”
Nawazuddin had earlier revealed that his daughter is inclined towards acting. He shares videos of her performances on social media. The Sacred Games actor then discussed the importance of reading and how online doomscrolling is spoiling the mind. When the actor was asked how he inspires his kids to read literature and poetry and appreciate art, at a time when people, especially the younger generation, are wasting their time online, he promptly replied, “Read Manto, Premchand, Bharat Muni’s Natya Shastra… there are great writers in our country.”
Talking about the importance of family values and education, the actor stressed that there is a need to change the way children are brought up. “The entire ecosystem should be blamed. The entire structure has to be changed,” Nawazuddin concluded.
Talking about work, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was last seen in Zee5’s show ‘Rautu Ka Raaz’. After this, he will be seen in projects like Section 108 and Noorani Chehra.
