Artificial intelligence is set to significantly reshape critical sectors such as healthcare, education, deep research, and medical sciences, said Sunil Mittal, Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.
Speaking during a fireside chat with Shantanu Narayen, Chairman and CEO of Adobe, Mittal emphasized that AI is no longer a futuristic concept but an integral part of business operations. He noted that AI is embedded in how Bharti serves customers, builds and manages networks, and enhances operational efficiency.
Mittal highlighted that sectors such as healthcare and education stand to benefit immensely from AI-driven innovations, enabling improved diagnostics, personalized learning, and accelerated research outcomes. Stressing the need for inclusive growth, he underscored the importance of keeping AI systems open and accessible to maximize societal benefit.
Echoing similar optimism, Narayen pointed out that India could soon have more AI users than any other country. However, he also flagged the importance of content authenticity as AI adoption scales rapidly. According to him, striking the right balance between protecting proprietary technologies and ensuring broad societal access will be a defining challenge of the AI era.
Narayen cited Adobe’s commitment to open standards, referencing the global success of the Portable Document Format (PDF) as an example of sustainable innovation. He added that enterprises must reassess what constitutes long-term competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving AI-driven world.
The discussion underscored India’s growing influence in the global AI landscape and the transformative potential of the technology across industries. As adoption accelerates, leaders stressed the need for responsible innovation, open frameworks, and strategic foresight to ensure AI delivers equitable and sustainable progress.
