Samsung India has broadened its flagship ‘Galaxy Empowered’ education initiative to Bhutan, aiming to digitally transform classrooms in remote areas through its immersive technology workshops. Launched in India in December 2024, the programme provides hands-on training to teachers, principals, and administrators, equipping them with Samsung’s latest Galaxy devices and AI-powered educational tools.
The recent immersion workshop at Samsung’s Executive Business Centre in Gurugram hosted educators from Bhutan’s diverse regions including Samtse, Gelephu, Punakha, and Pema Gatshel. Participants experienced Galaxy smartphones, tablets, flipboards, and interactive whiteboards, enabling them to reimagine teaching methods. This initiative, in collaboration with Bhutan’s Ministry of Education, seeks to make modern, inclusive classrooms accessible even in underserved communities.
The expansion holds promise for this key commercial and educational hub near the India-Bhutan border. Schools in could leverage Samsung’s innovative solutions to enhance digital learning, thus driving demand for smart devices and related educational technologies in the region’s growing market. With over 4,800 Indian teachers certified so far and a target to empower 20,000 educators by 2025, Samsung’s ‘Galaxy Empowered’ is accelerating EdTech adoption across South Asia, positioning itself as a leader in education innovation.
