In an attempt to improve career counseling and student skill development, the Keyi Panyor district administration in Arunachal Pradesh introduced an AI-based career awareness and advice application for government schools. Teachers from all throughout the district participated in a one-day training program that was organized in partnership with the Wadhwani Foundation to present the idea. The application, a collaborative effort between the Union Ministry of Education, NCERT-PSSCIVE, and the Wadhwani Foundation, gave students, teachers, parents, and counselors organized and validated career information. With the use of safe and trustworthy advice authorized by national education authorities, students were able to plan skill-based and future-ready professions by highlighting cross-sector livelihood options and mapping future career trajectories.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti stressed the expanding significance of technology and artificial intelligence in helping students make educated career selections. In order to help children discover their interests, skills, and long-term potential, she emphasized the significance of implementing career counseling at the school level. Nagarkoti explained how the AI-based career counselor worked, saying it employed interest-based questions to assist students identify their preferences and recommended appropriate skill pathways, course combinations, and career alternatives. She remarked that the application would greatly reduce misunderstanding among pupils after completing school instruction and encourage improved decision-making.
