According to Khandu, 99,656 farmers have received a direct payment of Rs 142.67 crore as part of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) program. Khandu stated in a post on X that “This direct financial support has strengthened the confidence of our farmers and helped them invest more in their fields.” Additionally, the chief minister emphasized that 1,02,295 farmers have received soil health cards, which allow them to comprehend soil conditions and implement scientific farming methods. “Healthy crops are built on healthy soil, and we are making sure our farmers have the knowledge they need to use their land responsibly,” he said. Regarding irrigation, Khandu reported that 5,658 farmers benefited from effective micro-irrigation infrastructure and 26,163 hectares of farmland were covered under the PM-Per Drop More Crop initiative. “Our farmers are adopting water use efficiency, which is essential to modern farming,” he continued.
The state’s efforts to promote organic farming were also emphasized by the chief minister. According to him, Rs 23.25 crore has been made available to help chemical-free farming, and 15,099 farmers have received assistance under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development project. In addition to being environmentally beneficial, organic farming raises the market value of our produce, he claimed.
