In a major relief to its workforce and retired employees, the Government of Arunachal Pradesh has announced a 3 per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR), effective from July 1, 2025. The decision aims to cushion the impact of rising prices and strengthen the financial security of government employees and pensioners across the state.

With the latest revision, the DA and DR rates for state government employees and pensioners will increase from 55 per cent to 58 per cent, aligning with the central government’s recent revision for its employees. The move will benefit thousands of serving staff, retired officials, and All India Service (AIS) officers posted in the state. According to the official notification issued by the Finance Department, the arrears for the months of July, August, and September 2025 will be paid in cash, while the revised rates will be reflected in the October 2025 salary and pension bills. Officials stated that the enhanced payments will be automatically credited along with the regular disbursements, ensuring a seamless implementation process.

A senior official from the Secretariat said the revision was part of the state government’s regular review of employee welfare measures and cost-of-living adjustments. “The increase in DA and DR is a gesture of appreciation for the commitment and hard work of our employees and pensioners. It ensures that their purchasing power remains stable despite inflationary pressures,” the official added.
