PMO director Rugved Milind Thakur visited a Khelo India-accredited centre in Guwahati to evaluate the implementation of Khelo India schemes and assess grassroots sports development. The visit aimed to review on-ground progress, identify best practices, understand challenges, and collect inputs for evidence-based documentation. The team interacted with key stakeholders, including young athletes, coaches, and Arunachal State Badminton Association members, to gain insights into the effectiveness of the programmes. ASBA secretary general-cum-Arunachal Olympic Association office bearer Bamang Tago presented a detailed overview of the state’s sports ecosystem, including a strategic roadmap for the next five years. However, Tago raised concerns about the location of Khelo India multipurpose halls, which are funded by the Centre but built far away from district headquarters.
