ARUNACHAL

Thousands of visitors are making their way to Hari Village in the picturesque Ziro Valley of Arunachal Pradesh to witness the breathtaking sight of blooming cosmos flowers that have turned the entire valley into a sea of color. Every autumn, the serene valley transforms into a floral wonderland as pink, white, and purple cosmos flowers carpet the fields. This year, the spectacle has drawn even larger crowds, especially following the recently concluded Ziro Festival of Music, which attracted visitors from across Assam and other northeastern states.

Tourists can be seen strolling through the vibrant flower fields, capturing photographs, and posing in traditional Apatani attire. Many are also exploring nearby attractions such as Sikhe Lake, where boating has become a popular leisure activity for those seeking a quiet retreat amidst nature. Local residents say the growing popularity of the valley is helping promote rural tourism and boosting the local economy. “We are happy to see so many tourists visiting our village,” said a resident of Hari Village. “But we request everyone not to pluck the flowers. These blooms are part of our landscape and must be preserved for everyone to enjoy.”

The villagers have urged visitors to respect the environment by avoiding littering and supporting local eco-friendly initiatives. They believe responsible tourism will help maintain Ziro Valley’s natural charm and ensure the cosmos bloom remains an annual spectacle for generations to come.
