In a major boost to Arunachal Pradesh’s infrastructure and employment sector, Chief Minister Pema Khandu distributed appointment orders to 404 successful Junior Engineer candidates on Monday. The recruits cleared the Junior Engineer Combined Recruitment Examination (JECRE) 2025, conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
Addressing the distribution ceremony, Chief Minister Khandu reaffirmed his government’s unwavering commitment to a fair, transparent, and merit-based recruitment system. He lauded the APPSC for conducting the highly competitive exam—which saw over 9,000 applicants—in a time-bound and credible manner. Recalling the systemic overhauls initiated after irregularities surfaced in 2020, Khandu emphasized that the commission has now emerged as a robust institution, alongside the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) for Group C posts.
The newly appointed JEs will be deployed across critical engineering departments, including the PWD, RWD, and Power. Acknowledging that a shortage of technical manpower has historically hit project supervision, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that these appointments would bridge the gap and drastically improve project monitoring.
To ensure the highest professional standards, Khandu revealed that the engineers will undergo professional training with reputed institutions. They will initially be posted in planning and design wings to gain technical exposure under senior officers before handling field responsibilities.
Highlighting massive ongoing investments worth nearly ₹2 lakh crore in the state’s hydropower sector, the Chief Minister urged the youth to explore entrepreneurship and government schemes. He concluded by calling upon the new recruits to maintain absolute honesty and transparency, ensuring that the quality of public infrastructure is never compromised.
