Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday handed over appointment orders to 72 newly recruited medical specialists and announced that the state will soon initiate organ transplant facilities at TRIHMS.
“At the felicitation-cum-presentation of orders of appointment to the successful candidates of the Medical Specialist Recruitment Examination–2026, we welcomed 72 newly recruited junior specialists into service,” Khandu said.
“Our vision is simple and clear: our people should not have to leave Arunachal Pradesh for treatment that can be provided here. We want specialised healthcare to reach every district and, ultimately, the last mile,” he said.
The CM said the government will keep strengthening the state’s hospitals, upgrading medical infrastructure and bringing better healthcare closer to the masses.
Speaking at the felicitation ceremony, Khandu described the induction of the specialist doctors as a major milestone toward filling manpower gaps and extending specialised healthcare services to remote and underserved pockets of the state, an official statement from CMO said.
Highlighting steps to bolster tertiary healthcare, the chief minister said the state government, in collaboration with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, is working to introduce organ transplantation at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS).
