Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein reviewed the small hydro power projects being implemented by Hydropower Development Corporation of Arunachal Pradesh Limited (HPDCAPL), with a focus on strengthening progress across ongoing and proposed projects in the State. Key discussions covered strategically important projects including the Sumbachu Small Hydro Power Project and the Taksang Chu Small Hydro Power Project in Tawang. The review examined construction milestones, electro mechanical works, inter departmental coordination, and site specific challenges affecting timely completion.
The status and readiness of other identified other such projects allotted to HPDCAPL were also assessed, alongside a focused roadmap to fast track implementation while ensuring environmental responsibility and meaningful local participation. “The review underscores our commitment to empowering HPDCAPL as a key implementing agency, promoting clean and decentralized energy, and strengthening Arunachal Pradesh’s long term energy security through responsible hydropower development” he said.
