A cadre belonging to the Angmai faction of proscribed militant outfit National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K) has surrendered before security forces in Arunachal Pradesh.
The 37-year-old self-styled captain of the militant group surrendered before police, Assam Rifles and Intelligence Unit at
the office of the Superintendent of Police, Longding.
According to official sources, the militant has been identified as Pongngoi Wangnowham of Kamkah village under Kanubari police station in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Sources said he joined the outfit in August 15, 2005.
“Arunachal Pradesh Police welcomed him into the mainstream, and after the formal surrender ceremony, he was handed over to his family,” a source said.
