On Wednesday, the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh inaugurated the renovation of the Sessa Mini Hydel Station in West Kameng district. Originally commissioned in 1992, the station was non-operational for years due to aging infrastructure but has now been modernized with advanced electromechanical systems. The plant, with a capacity of 3×500 kW and upgraded 33 kV connectivity, aims to provide reliable power to over 1,500 households in nearby villages. Enhancements include improved transmission systems and lower transmission losses, expected to generate about 6.1 million energy units annually, thereby boosting the region’s energy security and sustainable development. The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the initiative’s commitment to strengthening hydro power infrastructure in remote areas.
