Arunachal Pradesh University celebrated its fourth Foundation Day in the East Siang district, marking four years since its inception on July 1, 2022. Held under the theme “Celebrating Togetherness Through Sports and Culture,” the event brought together faculty, staff, and students to reflect on the institution’s rapid growth as the state’s lone university. Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor In-Charge Dr. Milorai Modi commended the university fraternity for their sincerity and shared commitment, urging them to view themselves as long-term stakeholders in shaping the institution’s future legacy.

The university’s annual report, presented by Assistant Registrar Anil Nangkar, highlighted significant academic and structural milestones achieved over the past year. Most notably, the institution added six new academic departments, expanding its total active departments from five to eleven. This academic broadening coincided with stellar student performance in the May 2026 semester examinations, where second-semester students achieved a pass rate of 84.6 percent, while fourth-semester students logged a near-perfect 98.1 percent pass rate.

Infrastructure developments also headlined the anniversary report, featuring the successful completion of Academic Block B alongside newly constructed residential quarters for both teaching and non-teaching staff. Speaking in his dual capacity as the Director of Technical and Higher Education, Dr. Modi reaffirmed the state government’s ready commitment to support the young university’s ongoing expansion. The celebration underscored APU’s transition from a nascent establishment into a purposeful hub for higher education in Northeast India.
