The Blenders Pride Fashion Tour culminated in Kolkata with a bold, future-focused reimagining of Indian craftsmanship, marking what organisers called fashion’s next evolutionary leap. The finale unfolded against the dramatic Howrah Bridge, transforming the historic Hooghly River into an unconventional runway. Designer Anamika Khanna’s AK|OK collection, led by showstopper Ishaan Khatter, dismantled traditional motifs through futuristic cuts, metallic elements and cosmic graphics, pushing craft beyond known boundaries.
In collaboration with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the showcase treated craftsmanship as an evolving force rather than a static tradition. The high-energy presentation opened on a barge anchored mid-river, featuring divers, scaffolding, smoke and lasers amplifying the movement of models. The climax arrived when Khatter entered by speedboat, closing the show against the illuminated backdrop of the bridge. Guests were hosted aboard The Bengal Paddle vessel, featuring a Riverine Museum that showcased rare artefacts and Hooghly’s maritime legacy.
Debasree Dasgupta of Pernod Ricard India said the finale proved that “Future is Crafted,” blending heritage with innovation. Designer Anamika Khanna said reimagining craft for the modern world was “exhilarating,” while Ishaan Khatter called the experience creatively liberating. FDCI Chairman Sunil Sethi said the collaboration united two powerhouses to shape Indian fashion’s future.
