The Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival (BVFF) has officially announced the dates for its 9th edition, scheduled from December 5th to 8th, 2024, at Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio in Kahilipara, Guwahati. This year’s festival will feature a compelling lineup of over 220 films, showcasing diverse narratives from the Northeast and beyond, and is expected to attract a large audience of film enthusiasts and industry professionals.

With categories including feature films, documentaries, and short films, the festival emphasizes its commitment to promoting emerging filmmakers, having received over 1,200 entries throughout its history. Last year’s BVFF welcomed more than 25,000 attendees, highlighting its growing influence in the cinematic landscape.

In Itanagar, the festival is poised to generate increased economic activity as attendees travel from various regions. Local businesses in Itanagar, particularly in hospitality and retail, are likely to benefit from heightened demand for services and products, contributing to regional economic growth.
