The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two individuals, including an assistant professor from the College of Agriculture, Pasighat (East Siang), in connection with a bribery case involving Rs 55,000.

The accused have been identified as Pavankumar Goudar, an Assistant Professor, and Anand Kumar Dwivedi, linked to M/s Matrix Solution, Pasighat. The arrests followed the registration of a case by the CBI on Wednesday against the assistant professor, the private company representative, and other unidentified individuals.

According to the CBI, the public servant allegedly demanded a bribe from the private individual in exchange for awarding a contract and facilitating payment releases. Acting on the complaint, the agency laid a trap and caught both men red-handed while the assistant professor was accepting the bribe.

Both accused were taken into custody on Wednesday and remain in police detention. Simultaneous searches are being carried out at locations linked to the accused individuals. The investigation is ongoing, and the CBI continues to gather evidence to uncover further details related to the bribery allegations and any additional individuals possibly involved.
