Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been increased across several major cities in the country from Tuesday, September 1. Oil marketing companies have revised the rates of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders, with prices rising by Rs 9.50 in cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Noida, Chandigarh and Lucknow.
Kolkata has recorded the highest increase, with the price of a commercial LPG cylinder going up by Rs 11.50. The hike is expected to put additional pressure on businesses that depend on commercial gas cylinders for their daily cooking requirements.
In Delhi, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased from Rs 2,738 to Rs 2,747.50. In Chennai, the rate has gone up from Rs 2,906 to Rs 2,916.50. Mumbai has also witnessed a Rs 9.50 increase, taking the price of the cylinder to Rs 2,701.
In Kolkata, the price has risen by Rs 11.50 to Rs 2,884 per cylinder. Meanwhile, commercial LPG prices have gone up by Rs 10 in Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram. Cities such as Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar have seen an increase of Rs 11.
The latest hike is likely to affect restaurants, hotels, eateries, sweet shops and other establishments that use commercial LPG cylinders for cooking. The increase could raise their overall operating costs.
There has been some relief for household consumers, as the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has remained unchanged for the third consecutive month. The latest monthly revision has not resulted in any increase in domestic cooking gas prices.
In Patna, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder continues to remain above Rs 3,000, making it the costliest among the cities covered in the latest revision.
Commercial LPG prices in Gurgaon, Noida, Chandigarh and Lucknow have increased by Rs 9.50. The revised rates are Rs 2,764.50 in Gurgaon, Rs 2,747.50 in Noida and Rs 2,769.50 in Chandigarh, while Lucknow has also witnessed a similar increase.
Jaipur, meanwhile, has recorded a Rs 10.50 increase in the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder as part of the latest monthly price revision.
