In a significant push towards sustainable transportation, Chartered Speed, a leading passenger mobility company, has launched 10 electric buses in Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service (APSTS). The green fleet was officially flagged off by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein at a formal ceremony held today. The 9-meter, air-conditioned electric buses will operate in key cities including Itanagar, Namsai, and Pasighat. To support efficient and uninterrupted service, Chartered Speed has installed EV charging stations at strategic locations in these cities, ensuring minimal downtime and swift turnarounds.

“Our partnership with APSTS reinforces our mission to bring eco-friendly transport solutions to every corner of India,” said Mr. Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director, Chartered Speed. “We’re proud to enable modern mobility in remote regions while advancing India’s green goals.”

Where Chartered Speed already maintains a strong operational base, the announcement is expected to accelerate the shift toward electric public transport. Stakeholders anticipate increased EV integration across intercity routes, enhancing both environmental benefits and commuter experience. The company, which operates over 1,800 buses nationwide, was recently awarded a CESL contract to run 900+ electric buses across 13 Indian cities.
