Quick-commerce users are finding it harder to stock up on sugar as platforms such as Zepto, Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart introduce quantity limits on selected products. The move comes amid a sharp increase in sugar prices and a noticeable rise in consumer demand.
The festive season is adding to the pressure, with households looking to purchase sugar for making sweets and traditional desserts. At the same time, concerns over further price increases have encouraged consumers to buy more, creating additional pressure on availability.
Zepto has restricted purchases of some sugar products, with limited availability cited for certain items. Blinkit has also placed caps on selected sugar packs, while Swiggy Instamart has limited orders of Supreme Harvest Crystal Sugar to two 1-kg packs.
As a result, consumers are dealing with higher sugar prices while also being unable to purchase the quantities they want. The restrictions highlight the growing pressure on both retailers and shoppers as demand rises ahead of the festive season.
