Governor KT Parnaik inaugurated the newly established Chief Minister’s Office and Chief Minister’s residence at Niti Vihar on August 15, coinciding with India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations. Chief Minister Pema Khandu, members of the state Cabinet, legislators, senior government officials, the Governor’s wife Anagha Parnaik and members of the public attended the ceremony. Describing the inauguration as a significant milestone in Arunachal Pradesh’s administrative and developmental journey, Governor Parnaik said the new Chief Minister’s Office should serve as a nerve centre for governance and development. He stressed that it should remain a place where citizens’ concerns receive due attention and where innovative ideas and effective policies are encouraged through transparency, efficiency and accountability. The Governor expressed confidence in Chief Minister Khandu and his council of ministers to address emerging challenges with determination and vision. He also highlighted Arunachal Pradesh’s strategic importance as a frontier state and its role in advancing the national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. Extending his best wishes to the Chief Minister and his team, Parnaik expressed hope that the new office and residence would encourage greater dedication, collaborative governance and faster development aimed at improving the welfare and prosperity of the people.
