Governor KT Parnaik has stated that the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) plays a pivotal role in shaping the administrative framework of the state and must consistently uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and excellence.

The Governor made these remarks during a meeting with APPSC Chairman Prof Pradip Lingfa at Lok Bhavan on Thursday, where the Chairman, along with members of the Commission, presented the APPSC’s 2025–2026 annual report. The delegation briefed the Governor on key activities undertaken during the year, including examinations conducted, recruitment recommendations made, major observations, and associated financial matters.

Emphasising the need for credibility and public trust, the Governor said that only the most deserving candidates should be recommended for public service positions. He underlined that transparency, accountability, and fairness must remain central to all recruitment and examination processes, with merit serving as the sole criterion for selection to ensure equal opportunity for all aspirants.

Parnaik also urged the Commission to adopt modern technology and best practices in its functioning. He noted that digital systems in examinations, evaluation, result processing, and grievance redressal would enhance efficiency, strengthen security, reduce human error, and improve accessibility.

Further, he advised periodic review of recruitment patterns and examination syllabi to better align with evolving governance needs. He stressed the importance of selecting candidates with not only academic knowledge but also critical thinking, ethical values, leadership ability, adaptability, and a commitment to public service, thereby contributing to a more capable and future-ready civil service in Arunachal Pradesh.
