The Centre for Himalayan Farmers Regional Agribusiness Incubation (CHF R-ABI), in collaboration with Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, held a Startups’ Meet at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh and distributed a total grant of Rs 2.75 crore among 25 agribusiness incubatees. The meet was presided over by Prof. Lobsang Wangchu and Dr. Anil Kumar, PI-CEO of CHF R-ABI, with Arunachal Pradesh Minister of Fisheries and Allied Sectors Gabriel D. Wangsu as chief guest, and Member of Parliament Tapir Gao as guest of honour. MLAs Ninnong Ering, Tapi Darang and other officials were also present during the meet.The event featured technical sessions which covered post-harvest management, floriculture, and food engineering, with participation from State Bank of India representatives. Since 2018-19, CHF R-ABI has trained 650 candidates across ten batches. The programme, under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana–Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sector Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR), supports startups from pre-seed to seed stages in organic farming, herbal products, floriculture, probiotics, home decor, incense sticks, natural drinks, saffron, and other value-added agriculture initiatives.
