Itanagar Municipal Corporation’s (IMC) first female mayor, Likha Nari Tadar, a BJP corporator from Ward No. 16, took the oath of office on Monday. Tok Tabin Camdir, the representative of Ward No. 19, took an oath beside her as the Deputy Mayor at the first meeting of the newly elected IMC. Urban Affairs Minister Balo Raja and Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso attended the function. Minister Raja urged all corporators to serve with integrity, morality, and dedication while congratulating the new mayor and deputy mayor. The Minister advised the IMC leadership to focus on revenue generating instead of solely depending on government initiatives, stating that financial strength is necessary for successful ward-level development.He also emphasized the significance of prioritizing waste management, roads, drainage, cleanliness, transparency, and grievance redress. After thanking the public, Tadar declared that improving urban infrastructure, maintaining cleanliness, and efficiently delivering municipal services across all wards will be her key priority.
