Arunachal Pradesh put up a strong performance at the 4th Kudo National Championship held in Pune, Maharashtra, winning a total of six medals, including two gold and four bronze.  According to the Arunachal Kudo Association, the state’s athletes performed well in different categories of the national-level competition, bringing recognition to Arunachal Pradesh in the martial arts event. The two gold medals were won by Hui Tajum and Yapi Paksok. Tajum secured the top position in the men’s above 31 physical index (PI-250) category, while Paksok claimed gold in the women’s above 21 (PI-250) category.

Arunachal Pradesh also added four bronze medals to its tally. The bronze medal winners were Tam Lapang in the PI-250 category, Tarak Dolu Bai in the PI-250 category, Gii Doke in the PI-220 category, and Tabit Taggu in the PI-210 category. A total of 11 athletes from Arunachal Pradesh participated in the championship, which witnessed competitors from different parts of the country.

Officials of the Arunachal Kudo Association said the achievement reflects the growing interest and steady development of Kudo in the state. The medal haul is also expected to encourage more young athletes in Arunachal Pradesh to take part in martial arts and national sporting events.
